The ChillPaw™ Ice Silk Pet Cooling Mat uses a cold-feeling ice silk surface that draws heat away from your dog or cat on contact, over a breathable mesh base that keeps air moving underneath. Ready to use straight out of the packet.
How it actually works
There's no gel and nothing to activate. ChillPaw™ is built in three layers, each doing a job:
- Ice silk surface: a smooth, high-conductivity weave that pulls body heat away fast, so it feels genuinely cold the moment your pet settles on it.
- Cotton padding: a soft middle layer so it's comfortable to sleep on, not just cold.
- Breathable mesh base: an open honeycomb underside that lets trapped heat escape instead of pooling under your pet.
Because the cooling is built into the fabric, it never runs out, never needs recharging, and can't leak or be punctured.

Does it contain gel?
No. ChillPaw™ Ice Silk is a fabric mat: ice silk over cotton padding over breathable mesh. There's no gel, no water and nothing sealed inside that could leak.
Does it need to go in the fridge or freezer?
No. It's cool to the touch at room temperature. You can chill it briefly for an extra-cold start, but it works perfectly well without.
How long does the cooling last?
The fabric keeps drawing heat away for as long as your pet is on it. It works best on a hard, cool surface with airflow underneath, which is exactly what the mesh base is designed for.
Is it safe for pets?
Yes. It's a fabric mat with no chemical fill. As with any pet bedding, supervise pets that like to chew and stop use if the mat becomes damaged.

I give it 5 stars. It feels like the fabric is really cool all the time. But our summer isn't very hot. Maybe that's why the dog doesn't really like lying on this blanket. But he does like to chew and suck on it. His teeth are coming in now.

It cools down a little bit, my Husky dog liked it a lot, just the size is small. But no problem because they like to put their paws and neck on it... I sent it 5 days earlier than promised... even though the update didn't show it as shipped.
My cat was a little resistant at first, but then he got used to it. And it really works. Amazing.
Since I put it on the cat, it hasn't moved from that spot, so I guess it's doing its job haha, but it's a shame I didn't get a bigger size.
